Our mission is to bring “Socially Active” art, music and culture to the downtown business district. The facility's presence in downtown Casper will be beneficial to many surrounding businesses, including bars, restaurants, theatres and more. Large events hosted at the Blue Barrel will encourage hundreds of potential consumers to eat, drink and shop at these nearby businesses before and after the events. We believe that The BLUE BARREL could bring to Casper, and the state of Wyoming, “Social and Economic Excitement” that many citizens feel has been missing.
The Blue Barrel will be a medium-sized facility with a capacity of up to 700 people. The facility will also feature large men's and women's restrooms, full bar, walk-in refrigerator, and a permanently installed, professional grade, PA and lighting system. The Blue Barrel will serve for the purpose of hosting LIVE Music and performing arts events. It will be similar in size and layout to that of many popular Colorado Venues such as the Gothic, Bluebird, and Ogden Theatres. While the Blue Barrel’s primary focus will be LIVE Music and Performance Arts, the facility will also be rented for other public and private events, including, but not
limited to, private parties, dances, conferences, art shows, receptions
and more.
While the renovations set to occur are minimal and relatively
inexpensive, all will be that of professional quality. The overall
design of the facility has been carefully chosen to capture what we
refer to as "universal appeal". The Blue Barrel's adaptable facilities
will help ensure its ability to not only accommodate all different
kinds of events, but to also do so in an atmosphere that is enjoyable
to consumers from all tastes, styles and walks of life.
The mission of the Blue Barrel is not to accomplish the goals that have already been achieved in our city. We strive to create a new facility dedicated to providing Casper with the arts & entertainment not currently available but that are collectively wanted by the majority of our community.
There are many National Performing Artists who do not perform in the state of Wyoming due to its lack of adequate Venues and Theatres. As a result, many of our citizens are forced to travel outside of our state to attend these kinds of performances. At the same time, many of Wyoming's local performing artists who wish to perform, find themselves limited to small bars, churches and banquet halls that are, in most circumstances, not designed to accommodate and or host these kinds of events.
According our research, the state of Wyoming is currently the only state in the United States presently lacking a full-time Live Music and Performing
Arts Venue of this scale. The Blue Barrel will be a facility dedicated to these kinds of events and the local companies, organizations and non-profits who
put them on. This facility will ensure that Wyoming citizens and artists will always have a place to feel, hear, see, experience and showcase Arts and
Entertainment of all kinds.
